Betty Hill
In Memoriam of Betty Hill
by Ingrid Rehwinkel
The world lost a beloved woman, Betty Hill. Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by her sister Gail and her daughter at the age of 86. She was a kind soul, caring, very thoughtful, and interested in people’s stories. She always enjoyed the exchange of good feelings. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Gene. Their marriage was a union of two avid tennis players.
Our Senior Women always looked forward to celebrating special occasions with “The Hills“. Laughter and camaraderie were enjoyed by all. We celebrate Betty’s life and treasure the memories we had with her. Rest in Peace, Betty!
*Intersectionals is played every other year in the Phoenix area. Because Betty and Gene owned a home in Scottsdale, AZ, they opened their home to the 80 and 85 year-old Intersectionals players from the tournament. Not only did they host the party, but they sent a bus to the hotel to bring all of those women to and from their home. They definitely were avid tennis fans. Betty hosted the last party alone, while she was battling cancer, shaved head and all, smiling the whole time. She played for the Midwest team, having lived for years in the Chicago area.
