NWTO is excited to announce the inaugural
NWTO Intergenerational Retreat
January 8-10, 2027
NWTO is inviting members from across age divisions (30s–85s) to apply for a three-day retreat designed to connect generations of players through tennis, conversation, mentorship, and wellness activities. Applications open on Friday, May 1, 2026.
Purpose of the retreat?
NWTO believes that the future of age-level women’s tennis everywhere is strongest when experience, energy, and ideas from every generation come together. Participants will share perspectives, generate ideas, and help strengthen the community that supports NWTO programs and initiatives.
Where is the Retreat?
The retreat will take place in Thermal, CA, just outside Palm Springs. Participants will stay in shared rooms with individual beds.
What is the Fee to Participate?
The NWTO will cover the cost of housing, meals, and all retreat activities.
Participants are responsible only for their travel and ground transportation to and from the venue.
How are participants selected?
Any current NWTO member may apply, provided they are available to attend January 8–10, 2027 and can cover their own travel expenses. Two participants in each age group (30-85) will be selected in a random draw from the pool of applicants (24 total participants). Selections will take place at the 2026 Intersectionals dinner. Applicants do not need to be present to be selected.
What kinds of activities are planned for the retreat?
Activities are designed to foster connections across generations of players:
• Fun, intergenerational round-robin doubles
• Small-group conversations
• Guest speakers
• Mentorship moments across age divisions
• Relaxation, yoga, stretching, and other health-building activities
