Nell Sale

DATES: July 11-15, 2023
LOCATION: Asheville, NC
DIVISIONS: Level 2, 55-85

The Level 2 tournament in Asheville, North Carolina, wound up on Friday, July 14, 2023. This was the 91st year of this tournament!

Only 27 women entered, at least 17 of whom were members of the NWTO. The age groupings were in 5-year segments. Because of the low number of entries, there was only one doubles draw in the 60s, and 3 singles draws (55, 60, 65). The setting is lovely Aston Park with 12 clay courts. And Asheville is a rocking town! There were many men entered at all age levels.

Anne Frautschi and Susan Love defeated Laurie Tinnell and Debbie Southern in the doubles final. Simone Vasconcellos from Brazil won the 55 singles, defeating Charlotte Hartsock. Susan Love defeated Laurie Tinnell in the 60s singles, and Janet Moseley defeated Suzanne Siegler in the 65 singles.
