NWTO Championships – Southern Hospitality and Tennis at Its Finest
Southern hospitality was in full swing during the Charleston, South Carolina Level 2 even- ages tournament on March 5-9. Many players commented on how friendly and welcoming everyone was. With the Houston Clay Courts sadly gone, this could be our new destination.
Cindy Babb and her team secured close, convenient, and reasonable hotel accommodation, daily snacks, lunches, and a wine and cheese tasting party at a local player's beautiful home. Players and their guests enjoyed a delicious buffet banquet for players at the Daniel Island Club. We were treated very well.
Tournament Director Ben Cook and his crew provided some of the best courts we've ever played on. And big kudos to Meg Farrelly, head referee, who managed the matches particularly well, including during a rain delay.
The tournament attracted many top players from around the country. The quality of the tennis was noticeable.

For many of the players, this was their first time playing in this tournament. The consensus tells us that it'll be the start of a new annual tradition.
