Tournament Recap: USTA National Hard Court Championships

DIVISIONS: Level 1, 35-85
The National Hard Court Championships for the odd divisions were held October 23-29 at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA. This year the tournament was held later in the month and it turned out to be a wise decision as the weather was spectacular! Tournament Director Andi Polisky, who has directed this tournament for seven years now, did a superb job and there were even five international players entered.
This year the tournament desk, the NWTO table and the physio were located inside the clubhouse which gave everyone an area to sit and mingle out of the sun. Each player received a nice swag bag with a t-shirt, water bottle, and various other goodies.
A player’s party was once again held outside at Mission Hills under a near full moon. There were over 70 players and guests in attendance who enjoyed a fabulous pasta buffet. The wine was generously provided by the NWTO and it encouraged some great dancing by all! Andi thanked Mission Hills, the NWTO and her wonderful staff for helping all week. Elizabeth Barnhill spoke on behalf of the NWTO and discussed how lucky we were to be at Mission Hills once again.
The older age groups finished mostly by Thursday with the younger age groups beginning then and finishing up by Sunday. Results are listed below.
