Tournament Recap: Longfellow Wellesley National Level 1 Indoor Women's and Mixed 55 & 60

LOCATION: Wellesley, MA
DIVISIONS: 55, 60

NWTO hit the jackpot with the new venue for the USTA National Indoors for the 55s and 60s age divisions, August 28 - 31. The Longfellow Wellesley Tennis and Health Club proved to be an outstanding facility, featuring six brightly lit tennis courts, beautiful locker rooms, designated stretching areas, and two excellent viewing spots. It was also a treat to have NWTO member Jennifer Cunningham as one of the tournament organizers.

Tournament Director Phil Parrish and his dedicated staff truly rolled out the red carpet, marking their successful debut as hosts of a USTA Level 1 National Adult Tournament. The event was packed with thoughtful touches, from local goodies like Greek Goddess Granola and custom racquet dampeners from the tournament charity, Networthy, to branded court towels and a lovely tournament dinner on Saturday night. Additionally, the NWTO Tournament Amenities Grant provided every female player with a $20 Whole Foods gift card, a convenient perk just five minutes away. Beyond the competitive matches, the experience was elevated by the chance to reconnect with old friends, explore the quaint surrounding towns, and take in the historic sights of nearby Boston.

With hopes to expand into additional ladies’ divisions next year, the tournament set a high bar.
