DATES: February 23–28, 2026
LOCATION: Palm Beach Gardens
DIVISIONS: 60’s, 70’s and 80’s

Competing in the 2026 USTA National Women’s Clay Court Championships was an incredible week of tennis and reconnection. The Palm Beach Gardens Tennis and Pickleball Center is a beautiful venue featuring plenty of shaded viewing areas, water stations, a great café, pro shop, and ample locker room facilities. It’s no wonder players from far and wide gathered for the first clay-court Level 1 event of the year.

The well-maintained clay courts highlighted the importance of patience, consistency, and smart tactics—qualities that were on full display throughout the tournament.

At the start of the event, South Florida was not cooperating and was surprisingly cold (although, being a Midwestern girl, “cold” is a relative term). Play was pushed back on the first morning to accommodate the chilly conditions. Layers were definitely needed, and the long-sleeve tournament shirt provided to each player turned out to be perfect. As the week progressed, South Florida returned to form, delivering sunny skies and ideal temperatures.

Several highlights made the tournament experience especially memorable. A special thanks goes to the amazing tournament director, Trish Faulkner, along with the supporting staff, for running such a smooth and well-organized event. Communication with players through email and text kept everyone informed and the tournament running seamlessly.

Player hospitality was also outstanding. Multiple lunches and breakfast snacks were provided by the National Women's Tennis Organization (NWTO), giving competitors the chance to relax, refuel, and connect with fellow players between matches—something that was greatly appreciated.

Adding to the excitement, a raffle was held to support the Margaret Russo Scholarship. The raffle was well supported, and with so many prizes available, many players walked away with a little treasure.

Year after year, this tournament proves to be a “must play.” Great matches, friendships revisited, and new friendships formed make this event a highlight of the season. Be sure to put it on your calendar for next year!
