Tournament Recap: New England Wins the 2023 Women's Friendship Cup

The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. Tournament Recap: USTA National Women’s 35-85 Grass Court Championships

This was my first time playing in the Grass Court Championships at Germantown Cricket Club. I’ve seen pictures but never imagined how big the club really was. The clubhouse is the first thing you see when you drive through the gates of the club. It is the original building from when the club was founded in 1854. Then, you look to the left and you see the huge field with 22 grass courts. It is impressive!

Tournament Recap: USTA National Indoor Championships

The 2023 USTA National Indoor Championship was played at one of the premier indoor court facilities in the U.S. With 15 indoor courts and viewing of all courts, the setting was ideal whether playing or watching. As I start to write this article, it is the second day of the tournament and it is pouring rain outside. We do not have to hole up in our hotel rooms or contemplate shortened formats. Tournament Recap: Westwood Senior Championships

The Westwood Senior Championships is a Level 2 tournament that is traditionally held over the Labor Day Weekend in Austin Texas.

The Westwood Country club is located in an idyllic setting adjacent to a nature preserve with stunning views of the Colorado River. Wild peacocks occasionally roam the grounds. Majestic oak trees provide ample shade and the sight lines for spectators are very good on most courts…
